Christ Jasper Emergency Room Expansion

Project Details:

Jasper Hospital District engaged Milestone Project Management to provide a comprehensive market analysis for Emergency Services in their primary market area. The hospital district wanted to know if a new emergency services department was required, how big it should be and how much it would cost to build. The study concluded that a new ED with 16 treatment rooms (6 Urgent Care and 10 Emergent Care) would provide a 95% probability of having a room available when a patient first presented. MPM provided a room-by-room space program, a comprehensive project budget, a project schedule and conceptual floor and site plans. Based on the study, JHD elected to move ahead with the project and engaged MPM to manage the project.

The new addition is approximately 11,000 sf and includes a family waiting area, triage, urgent care and emergent care units. The emergency care unit includes a dedicated X-Ray room and 3 Trauma/Cardiac Rooms. Additional space will be added for the Imaging Department and the Laboratory. A CT will be relocated. A new MRI will be added to the department's list of modalities. The Laboratory will be completely renovated to accommodate the demands of a state of the art facility.

Milestone was engaged as the Owner's Representative / Project Management firm on behalf of the Client. MPM oversaw the design, contractor selection, team assembly process, construction, and move in coordination through to the occupancy of the project.
