Project Renaissance: The Noble Energy Corporate Headquarters

Noble Energy makes substantial investment in previous HP facility

HOUSTON, TX (December, 2012) Noble Energy Inc. is "creating an environment where synergies abound and breakthroughs become outcomes" in their new corporate headquarters. Noble Energy leased the entire 497,000 s.f. facility that previously housed Hewlett Packard's U.S. headquarters at Highway 249 and Louetta in northwest Houston. Milestone Project Management says that the development is being referred to as Noble Energy Center One, and will be followed by another building adjacent to the site, to be called Noble Energy Center Two.

Noble selected Milestone Project Management to coordinate the design and construction process for Noble Energy Center One and Two. Though Milestone may be best known for their healthcare expertise, Noble tapped the firm because of their proven track record to effectively manage large project teams and advocating the Owner's interests through the development process. Milestone's involvement will also ensure the project is completed within the compressed schedule, while achieving the operational efficiencies and collaborative working environment required by Noble.

Noble's new home will include on-site food services, an employee health club, a signature dining facility, and state of the art technology infrastructure. Under new USGBC guidelines, renovations to the existing building as well as the interior build out are expected to achieve LEED Certification for New Construction. The look and feel of the refreshed interiors will emulate Noble's pioneering spirit and foster greater teamwork and innovation.

Noble finalized the lease earlier this year and construction began in October. The company plans to move employees into the facility, to be called Noble Energy Center One, by summer 2013. Planning is already underway on Noble Energy Center Two, with an expected opening of 2015. The masterplan will give Noble greater flexibility to manage corporate growth. Milestone's Caryn Ogier is leading the Noble Energy Center One and Two projects.

"Though the Noble Energy Center project seems like a straight-forward interior renovation, we see real opportunities to impact the project process and outcomes," Ogier said. "Our work with user group consensus building on the healthcare side is directly applicable to the commercial sector. We have deep experience working on complicated buildings, often with stakeholders that have conflicting and competing priorities. Knowing Noble Energy's goals, we will work with all team members to ensure a working environment that is conducive to occupant well-being and inspires employee performance."

Kirksey is architect for the project and Balfour Beatty was selected as the General Contractor.
